And another serie emerges .....

....from these thousands of pictures that are moved. Worth to be shown here before they get deep-sixed again into any drawer.
It was shown in 2009 within a group exhibition and is called: "Ways to homely happiness"

Moving my studio II

"In the mirror of water". Water is a fluid element. We can see it, because the light reflects it.......

MOVING MY STUDIO and FINDING OLD TREASURES

As I am just moving my studio to install it - after 12 years - into my flat again, ......... and have found a few pictures about this exhibition that was called "K.W.E.R"- which is the short version "Keine wirklich echten Rosen" (Not truly real roses). I showed it in April 2007 at Orgelfabrik Karlsruhe. It dealt with the working conditions for those, who grow and harvest roses............................

WHAT WE NEED IS ART

What we need is art

Within human’s behaviour it is still expression of feelings by the
abstract means of music, gestures, speech and pictures that makes
art unique and thrilling. Again and again it is this quality of art that
attracts attention to fresh and unorthodox coherence. Concurrent
the world has come to an edge at which we have to resume and
rethink our hitherto existence intensely, seriously and we are well
advised to do it effectively. For this reason our future has a special
need of articulating ourselves with implicitly more substance than
shows, phrases and hollow exhibitionism. Paltry exclusiveness will
not help to solve the occurring disorientation and shifting of
societies.

We lack of the courage and the earnest attempt to make ourselves
and our real actual needs understood. We urgently require expressing
our diversities and our commonness on this planet. Thus we might
need art and creativity as a trailblazer for new ways of a constructive
and peaceful face-to-face interaction. Hence the often visionary ways
of how art approaches and comments current situations might even
be catalytic.

For this purpose art needs a surrounding open and reassuring for
everyone who is interested in designing new ways of dialogues and
coexistence. Within such an open-minded atmosphere art can
profoundly assist with making this a becoming human century.

But if we let it happen that art degenerates to a lifestyle attitude or
exclusiveness for any self-appointed art specialists the honest
attempts and contributions of art and artists to an attentive,
respectful world are threatened and discredited.

To prevent such a tendency, maybe more artists and curators will
and want to run international gatherings like Biennales themselves.
We are ready to join, to contribute and to clench and will continue
projects within the artists-run-initiative T.act!

Contribution to T.act "Golden Dreams of Fairy Tales or Paradox of a Natural Resource" at AIM Biennale Marrakesch 2012

We have chosen gold as our topic for 4th Marrakesh Biennale.
It is a well known metaphor of 21st century conditions which are
determined by tense economical, environmental and social
questions with urgent needs for solutions. Especially in a country with
an abounded and long history like Marocco has these circumstances
are to be seen very clearly. Within this Marrakesh has a special
position. On one hand it is still a place where parts of medieval
lifestyles have not yet or only slightly changed. On the other hand the
“Parabol” can’t be ignored as an obvious image. Added to these facts
it meanwhile is a hub of the upper crust , many of them own a
residence in Marrakesh.

Under the influence of these impessions diverse angles on the topic
were shown and artistically commentedand by an international
group with its accordingly different backgrounds and professional
experiences . This did not only shape the display of a unique exhibtion.
It also shaped our individual artistic views. A topic - like the “gold one”-
gets aspects that couldn’t be covered by the work of a single artist.
Through the multitude of the different approaches, such an exhibition
gets various layers and it is an enrichting training in cultural empathy for
all participants.

T.act - Tribe of artists in collaborative terms - is the name of the
group. It means that we discuss and show up our ideas via skype and
e-mail over thousands of kilometers and then take off - like tribes do -
to make an artistic gathering once or twice a year to carry out these
jointly and democratically chosen topics at a suitable site.

T.act prefers to work on site and mostly with materials found there.
This evolves a direct connection and recognition of  local  environment.
Sometimes this even changes or modifies already made artistic plans and
ideas completely. Never though we have the intention to give solutions.
But we hope we can call one’s attention closer to certain perspectives and
problems and therewith be trailblazer for a dialogue.

The gathering in Marrakesh has been financed and realised 100% by
the effort of the artists themselves.

ONE CLICK - SLEEPING BEAUTY
185 picturese presented on a digital frame. Pictures altnernate slowly between either well-known images about catastrophes of the 20th and 21st century or consumer's items in golden colour. The way you can watch them has the image of a commercial. It is exactly the way TV works nowadays. Bombing, murder, dead people alternate with commercials. This is a very subtile way to brainwash empathy.
SHORT TIME OF BEING
On 26 wooden tableaus  people who cross Djemaa el Fna or spend some time there are to be seen. They all have in common, that they are not alone. They are related with each other in talks, in walks, in sharing time. The tableaus have the image of ancient Russian icons. Not for the reason to create new hollies but more for the reason to emphasize the holiness of relationship between human beings.
Djemaa el Fna is a big square in the old part of Marrakesh. Into one of the alingning cafes a bomb was thrown due to a terrorist attac in 2011. It is almost not imaginable that someone does this and declares completly innocent people to be victims and to die.
